What does Speech Mum do?

Speech Mum offers private speech therapy unique to your child's needs and tailored to your child and your family.
Initial assessment including summary report, left with you on the same day
1 hour maximum appointment time - £80 (from 1st April 2026)
ONLINE: Online assessment directly with your child (over 5s) or with you (under 5s) using the Zoom platform.
FACE TO FACE: Assessment in your home or child's setting using formal and informal methods, observation, play and discussion with parents / teaching staff. Inclusive of 10 miles round-trip travel from Chorley. Additional mileage will be charged at 40p per mile.

Once assessment is complete, Speech Mum will share the starting point findings and give verbal advice along with and assessment summary sheet.

A formal, more detailed report can be written after this and will be charged at an additional £80.

Treatment sessions
Variable duration, charged at rate of £80 per 1 hour. Advance payment required per appointment. Includes session summary with advice for home / setting after each session.
Detailed assessment including detailed report suitable for EHCP / annual review / formal diagnosis etc.
£80 per hour - typically 2 x 1 hour appointments +1 hour report writing

Once assessment is complete, Speech Mum will share the detailed findings with you and you will formulate an appropriate package of care together. You will receive a detailed report within 2 working days after the assessment.
